Ansel Adams Backpack
In late September, Kathy and I decided to go on a short backpacking
trip in the eastern Sierra, in the Ansel Adams
Wilderness. Unfortunately, Kathy had hurt her leg a couple of days
earlier and stepped badly a couple of times which made it worse, so we
decided to abort and go down after the first night. The weather was
also looking worse, rain turned to snow on the peaks above us, so we
were just as happy to get out. The one morning, at Garnet Lake under
Banner Peak, we saw one of the most beautiful sunrises I've ever
seen. The Banner Peak pictures below that I took then must count as
some of the best pictures I've ever managed to get. The secret is just
being in the right place at the right time...
